Lehi Summer Enrichment Instructor (Located within the SRPMIC)Department: Lehi Branch (1231 E. Oak St. Mesa, AZ)Location: Mesa, AZMake a difference! - Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale is looking for responsible, reliable, and caring adults who are committed to making a positive impact on the great futures of our kids and teens.Provides fun, educational programs including Education, Character & Leadership, Health & Life Skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Technology.Specifics: This is a seasonal position, working up to 20 hours per week, at $30.00 an hour. Visit /jobs for more information and to apply online.POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Summer Enrichment Instructor is responsible for the safety and supervision of Club members in a variety of program areas. Implements, organizes, and evaluates all education programming at the Branch with a special emphasis on four key components: reading, math, civics, and attitudes about school and learning. Under the direction of the Youth Development Supervisor, the Summer Enrichment Instructor delivers quality programs and high-yield activities to Club members. Utilizes the organization's mission, vision, and values to set members up for success and provide an outcome-driven Club experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to program development and facilitation, program area safety and cleanliness, and providing guidance to volunteers. If 21 or older, responsibilities may include transporting members.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Program Evaluation & Implementation: Develops, organizes, implements, and evaluates all education programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum. Continually reviews effectiveness of education programming and reports observations to Branch leadership. Facilitates programming using a variety of methods, including lecture, discussion, active games, and supervised role playing. Administers outcome measurement tools and reports. Works with Youth Development Supervisor and Branch Director to purchase needed supplies and program materials. Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude.Health & Safety: Ensures program areas remain safe, clean, and organized. Adheres to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's policies and procedures. Demonstrates sound judgement and decision-making. Acts quickly in emergency situations. Maintains Club equipment and property to ensure they stay in good working order. Uses positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues. Utilizes active supervision techniques when working with Club members.Additional Responsibilities: Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSRequired: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience in a related field. Minimum 2 years' work experience in an educational environment or a similar youth development organization. Must have taught in a school setting within the past two years. Ability to multitask and adapt to Club's changing needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology. Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aide certifications. Maintains a valid driver's license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles. Flawless ethics and integrity. Safety oriented mindset.Recommended: Certified to teach in the state of Arizona. Direct youth programming experience. Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aide certifications.
