Directs all activities of the Payroll department and develops procedures for and directs the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll checks, payroll taxes, and employee benefit payments. Reviews additions and changes to computerized payroll system (e.g., changes in salary, benefits, tax withholdings, etc.). -Meets all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Functions:

Directs all aspects of payroll processing operations -
Have a deep understanding of California FLSA and wage and hour law
Has an understanding and maintains a strong knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and directs and trains the payroll staff to remain in compliance with these laws
Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting, and internal financial requirements
Establishes a strong working relationship with Human Resources and helps coordinate processes and procedures for timekeeping, benefits deductions and tax withholdings -
Evaluates current systems, and recommends and develops operating efficiency improvements
Designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations
Prepares executive reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements
Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations.
Responsible for driving the Satellite Healthcare culture through values and customer service standards
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Five (5) years of payroll leadership experience

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of ADP payroll systems
    • Advanced knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
    • Effective communication skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team
    • Able to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email
