JOB SUMMARYAn Outdoor Lighting Perspective Operations Manager plays an active role in the research, planning and implementation of strategies that align with department and company goals, as established by the franchise owner. You are expected to lead by example, hiring and motivating staff to meet and exceed their personal and professional goals while maintaining a positive and rewarding work environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Direct supervision of 1-2 employees, with heavy involvement in the hiring, orientation, training, development, performance management, leadership and advancement of all staffProvides regular and recurring goal setting, mentoring & feedback to all direct reportsEnsures that all employees are formally reviewed at least once per yearIdentifies potential leaders and develop them for advancement accordinglyContinuous strategic planning, including suggested changes to vision and business plansSustains a work environment that builds positive professional relationships, creates accountability and rewards performanceDetermines operational strategies by conducting needs assessments, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyses, and establishes productivity, quality, and customer-service standardsProactively suggests, creates or modifies and implements policies and procedures that maintain profitabilityObjectives by estimating requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actionsPrepares performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trendsMaintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in operations management, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societiesWorking occasional nights to perform night time demonstrations or nighttime adjustmentsInstallation and servicing of low voltage lighting and holiday lightingESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTESKnowledge and competence in the following dimensions: Staffing and Performance Management; Labor Law Compliance; Teambuilding, Effective Communications; Organizational Planning, Quality Control; Safety; Accountability; Customer ServiceExceptional interpersonal skills and human relation skills that positively benefits interaction with staff, partners and external clienteleAbility to work both independently and as a team playerMust be detailed oriented, able to plan, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a past paced environmentExcellent managerial skills with an understanding of how to hire employees who fit job requirementsAbility to teach, train, mentor, evaluate and motivate staffGood decision making skills with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solution to solve problems or challengesGood comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through written and verbal communicationExperience in providing effective and documented coaching and feedback, the courage to verbally counsel below expectation employeesAbility to exercise good judgment and self-controlIn-home sellingEnthusiasm, good attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honestyAbility to work autonomously and understand when a superior needs to be involved in decision makingSelf-motivated with a dedication to keeping up to date technically, and applying new knowledge to your jobEDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE 4-year degree in related field or comparable experience, and/orMinimum of 1-year industry experience and/or3 years management experience; or any combination of the aboveComputer skills, with a strong working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office programsAbility to successfully pass a background check, including a clean driving record, and other pre-employment screeningPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to lift & carry items up to 15lbsAble to sit at a desk comfortably while working on a computer, for extended periods of timeOutdoor Lighting Perspectives is an equal opportunity employer and supports a drug-free workplace.
