Company DescriptionCharter One LLC, headquartered in Mesa, Arizona, is an Education Management Organization providing oversight of and functional support (including human resources, academic, information technology, marketing, grant / federal programs, facilities, and budget/financial management support) to over 25 campuses, 2,000 staff and 20,000 students in two primary geographic divisions across the United States.
Charter One's Arizona division oversees all facets of daily operations of 17 campuses, 1,300 staff, and 14,000 students in Florence, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, and Waddel, Arizona. Its Southeast division oversees daily operations of 8 campuses in North Carolina, South Carolina among other states.
Job Description
The Executive Manager is responsible for assisting the Division President in the fulfillment of daily tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the daily operations of all ALA Arizona campuses
  • Developing policy and procedures related to the efficient and effective operation of all ALA campuses in Arizona
  • Serving as the organization leadership's single point of contact for operational issues on all ALA Arizona campuses
  • Monitoring, tracking, and reporting to leadership on the operational performance and issues on all ALA Arizona campuses
  • Providing mentoring, training, oversight, and management of ALA's campus directors
  • Coordinating and communicating operational issues and requirements with ALA campus directors
  • Serving as liaison to the ALA Governing Board including staffing issues to present to the board; ensuring compliance with board approved guidance, and scheduling, coordinating and facilitating board meetings
  • Coordinating with Arizona State Board for Charter Schools (ASBCS), Arizona Department of Education (ADE) and other state agencies as appropriate
  • Drafting, staffing, and submitting charters for future ALA campuses
  • Developing and coordinating school year calendars
  • Vetting and approving all ALA staff hires
  • Serving as appeal authority for ALA student discipline and staff personnel issues as appropriate
  • Scheduling, planning, and facilitate campus administrator and faculty training
  • Vetting and approving campus purchases
  • Coordinating ALA's annual budget and ensuring campus expenses and expenditures are consistent the the budget
  • Coordinating with appropriate staff elements to develop and disseminate communications to families, staff, faculty, stakeholders, and community partners
  • Coordinating campus issues across all organization departments
  • Other duties as assigned by the Division President
    Mandatory Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree - any field
    • Master's degree - any field; management, business, or education preferred
    • 10 years management and direct supervisory experience
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Fluency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • Outstanding initiative and ability to work autonomously
    • Ability to deliver results in an organization experiencing rapid growth and evolution in structure, staffing, and resources
    • Experience managing strategic change
    • Extremely strong time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
      Highly Desired Qualifications
      • 5 years recent experience in the education profession
      • 5 years experience working in a senior organizational echelon (e.g., school district office, corporate regional management office, company headquarters, etc.)
      • Experience developing, implementing, and managing systems, procedures, and policies to be applied across multiple organizational levels
      • Strong familiarity with Human Relations, organizational, and education legal principles
      • Robust technical skills
        Desired Qualifications
        • Familiarity with or experience working in a charter school
        • Familiarity with common student information systems (e.g., Infinite Campus)
        • Familiarity with Arizona law, policy and procedures related to Charter School
