THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our talented team nationwide. This position's primary location will be our Mesa, AZ headquarters, but must be willing to travel to our other locations as needed. This position will be leading roughly 70-80 team members in various departments and focused on growing people and driving efficient, lean production.

A successful Director of Operations will build capabilities within each of the operations teams to execute the organization's strategy and achieve results. The leader we seek for this role will inspire others to create possibilities that otherwise wouldn't exist. They are a leading example of self-development to those around them and have a certain affinity for continuous improvement. You can also find the Director of Operations present on the floor encouraging and energizing their team.

This is a Full-Time, Exempt position Monday - Friday. Our business operates from 7 AM - 5 PM. Please expect your typical day to be at least 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM with additional hours as business needs require.

THE PERFECT FIT:

Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Management, Engineering, or a related field
Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred
5+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing
3+ years leadership and management experience required
Ability to analyze data, review the operations information, and make suggested changes to improve operational performance
Able to balance attention to detail with swift execution
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills

THE DAY TO DAY:

Team Leadership

Encourage and serve the people you lead (unique to their specific needs)
Support department Managers in their daily efforts to ensure they have the proper direction for managing day-to-day operations
Champion all Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEH&S) initiatives and ensure compliance in all facets of the operations

Results Leadership

Track daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual metrics to measure success and develop strategies to constantly improve
Develop and oversee upward reporting to ensure leadership is connected to the field
Ensure department Managers are actively holding team members accountable to performance goals
Communicate expectations clearly and often, follow-up regularly with feedback specific to each individual's performance and results

Strategic Leadership

Have a clear understanding of our organization's entire supply chain and the IT assets we work with to create forward-thinking operational plans
Create and communicate a clear vision for the operational teams so they understand how every team's work impacts other areas of the organization
Collaborate in the refinement, implementation, and monitoring of all operational Current Best Processes (CBPs)
Evaluate operational activities, projected volumes, sales goals, and incoming IT assets to determine personnel and equipment needs based on evaluation

Talent Development (Personal and Team)

Participate in growth and development initiatives, both personal and company-wide
Humbly solicit and receive feedback from direct team members, leadership, and peers
Consistently encourage and support team members in their own personal and professional development objectives and goals
Encourage and support Personal Development Plans to grow leaders within the organization
Acquire top talent through direct involvement in the interview, hiring, and on-boarding process

Communication

Since you will be managing multiple operational departments that work closely with other organizational units in other locations, it is vital to have strong communication skills via all communication channels, both internally to team members and externally to vendors and clients, and you must be comfortable communicating and presenting to groups of all sizes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects as needed 50+ lbs.
Ability to work and look at a computer screen for extended hours per day.
Ability to sit and/or stand for consecutive hours.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Legally authorized to work in the United States
The ability to pass a drug test/background screen
The ability to speak/read English fluently
