Job Description:
Overview:NaphCare is hiring a Chief Psychiatrist to join our
team of medical professionals in the Pima County Detention Center
located in Tucson, AZ.As a Correctional Psychiatrist, you will
oversee clinical responsibility for the mental health programs
within the facility, while working alongside correctional officers
and other medical professionals. This is a unique position where
you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients
with complex mental health needs.Responsibilities:The Psychiatrist
is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
and diagnosing mental health conditions to facility residents that
protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient
population. Additional responsibilities may include and not be
limited to:Maintaining overall clinical responsibility for the
mental health programs within the facilityOverseeing the completion
of mental health screenings and evaluationsPerforming sick call
visits and chronic care visitsConducting rounds in all
unitsFormulating a working diagnosis, develop and implement a
treatment plan, and evaluate/modify therapeutic regimens to promote
positive patient outcomesCoordinating, leading and participating in
educational training activities related to mental health
careProviding medication management, therapy, and other
evidence-based treatment plans to address mental health
needsResponding to acute mental health crises within the
facilitySupporting the rehabilitation of patients and facilitating
their successful transition back into the communityEnsuring
compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations,
including court mandates and standardsCollaborating with
multidisciplinary teams, including correctional staff,
psychologists, social workers and other medical professionals to
develop and implement treatment plans and ensuring staff are
responsive to patients needsQualifications:Education / Licenses /
CertificationsMedical degree (MD or DO)Must hold a current
unrestricted license as a Psychiatrist in ArizonaA current DEA
registration in StateHave a valid CPR cardBe certified in a Board
recognized by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
(ABPN)Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills
and have strong computer skills.Experience / Requirements /
Qualifications / SkillsExperience with underserved and marginalized
populations, including those with mental health and substance use
disordersStrong communication skills and ability to communicate
with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals,
correctional staff and judgesAbility to interpret and analyze data
to create treatment plansKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations,
and industry standardsAble to maintain confidentiality of all
proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity,
professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and
comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies,
procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facilitys criminal
background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities:Must have
the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up
to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant
distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all
while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.Why
