Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/15/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift assignment requiring travel experience and an active AZ or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Work on a 46-bed inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care setting - Night shift, 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required - Assignment is 13 weeks in length - Unit cares for telemetry and medical/surgical patients including neurology, cardiology, urology, ortho, general surgery, renal, pulmonology, and infectious diseases - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 - No cath lab, CVOR, or invasive neurology procedures are performed - Cerner EMR is used on the unit - Must be prepared to float to sister facility in Laveen and be the first to float if needed - Charge nurse and PCTs/nursing aides are present on all shifts - Floor-specific orientation is provided - Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, medication administration, lab draws if phlebotomy is unavailable, and working with interdisciplinary teams - SIMs Lab includes education on lifts, restraints, and wound care specific to facility policies and equipment - One major and one minor holiday coverage required during assignment - Navy scrubs required as dress code - Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available 24/7 - No hospitalist or intensivist in-house coverage available - First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Requirements - Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted - Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience - Previous travel RN experience is required - Current ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of consideration; pending certifications not accepted - Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract, with two attempts permitted - Must pass SIMs Lab skills check on sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes on day one - Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred - COVID vaccination is required or declination form with supporting clergy or MD documentation - Candidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-638633.
