Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Orientation and Mobility or Special Education, Certification as a
Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), and 1 years
Orientation and Mobility Specialist experience required. Applicants
who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A
full-time opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility
Specialist (OMS) to provide specialized support to students in a
K-12 public school setting. Located in the Phoenix metro area, this
contract position spans the current school year with a start date
as soon as possible and extending through May 21, 2026. Key
Responsibilities: Assess and develop personalized orientation and
mobility plans for visually impaired students across all grade
levels. Teach safe and effective travel techniques to promote
student independence on and off campus. Collaborate closely with
educators, families, and support staff to integrate mobility goals
within academic programming. Monitor student progress and adjust
interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Maintain
accurate documentation in compliance with district and regulatory
standards. Qualifications: National Orientation and Mobility
Specialist certification required. ACVREP certification preferred.
Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage a
full-time caseload effectively. Position Details: Location:
Phoenix, Arizona area. Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Contract duration: Current school year through May 21, 2026.
Caseload and school assignments to be determined. This role offers
