Job Description:
Sonora Quest Laboratories, a renowned leader in diagnostic
testing jointly operated by Banner Health and Quest Diagnostics, is
seeking an experienced Surgical Pathology Lead to oversee our
pathology department in Arizona. This position is critical in
maintaining the highest standards of laboratory testing, ensuring
accurate and timely diagnostics that support effective patient
care. The Surgical Pathology Lead will be responsible for all
aspects of the pathology services, working closely with a team of
dedicated laboratory professionals and interfacing with clinical
staff to drive healthcare outcomes. Manage day-to-day operations in
the surgical pathology lab, ensuring compliance with all regulatory
standards. Supervise and train laboratory staff, promoting ongoing
professional development and adherence to high standards of
practice. Review and report on pathological specimens accurately
and within set timelines. Develop and implement quality control
protocols to enhance accuracy and safety of lab results.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to discuss clinical findings
and consult on patient cases. Lead research and development
initiatives within the department to adopt new technologies and
methodologies. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of
laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Expert
knowledge of pathology laboratory processes and regulations. Strong
leadership and personnel management skills. Proficiency with
Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and relevant
software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across diverse medical disciplines.
Certified as a Pathologist or Clinical Pathologist by a recognized
board (e.g., American Board of Pathology). Valid state licensure to
practice as a pathology technician or equivalent.
