The Boeing AvionX Computing Platform Software (CPS) team is seeking
multiple Senior Software Integrators to join us at one of our
locations including: Hazelwood, Missouri, Plano, Texas, Mesa,
Arizona and Long Beach, California to integrate real-time, embedded
flight software on safety critical and mission critical avionics
systems constrained by size, weight, and power (SWaP) and cyber
These systems must meet the highest levels of safety standards,
levels of rigor and design assurances required by the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD) and
National Security Agency (NSA) certification authorities as they
are deployed on latest Commercial aircraft, Defense platforms and
weapons systems, including un-piloted and autonomous vehicles of
The ideal candidate for this role is experienced at software
development, integration and test for avionics , utilizing rigorous
design practices, efficient and automated processes and tools, to
delivery on-time, high quality, safety assured and cyber assured
Do you like solving problems every day and demonstrating the
definition of done via working software? Do you recognize bad
coding practices when you see it and are able to determine root
causes quickly with timely remedies? Is there nothing you cannot do
software-wise? If so, then you may be a perfect match for this job
Develops, documents and maintains reusable integration and test
plans for real-time embedded systems.
Serves as a subject matter expert regarding software integration
and helps solve the most complex of problems.
Defines the minimal marketable features (MMF) of an incremental
build plan to demonstrate working software.
Mentors and coaches team on best software practices and lessons
learned from integration and test.
Participates in daily scrums, using agile practices, to communicate
clearly and openly on incremental progress and provides the help
needed on any impediments and roadblocks and suggests timely
remedies for common ailments during retrospections.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be
required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security
Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry
4+ years of experience programming in C, C++ or Ada
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems,
using one or more of the following real time operating systems
(RTOS): Wind River Systems VxWorks, DDC-I Deos or Green Hills
1+ years of experience developing software in a multi-threaded
execution, multi-core processor computing environment, where the
use of semaphore variables are used to control access to common
1+ years of experience developing middleware per applications
programming interfaces (APIs) to open standards such as FACE
(future airborne capability environment) and OMS (open mission
1+ years of experience developing secure software for C and C++ per
OWASP secure coding practices
1+ years of experience developing safety critical software per FAA
DO-178C or MIL-STD-882E standards
1+ years of experience developing cyber assured software per NSA
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) risk
management (RMF) and cybersecurity frameworks (CSF)
1+ years of experience developing software using lean
methodologies, focusing on low work-in-progress (WIP) and critical
handoffs to delivery on-time, high quality software
1+ years of experience developing software using the Atlassian
agile lifecycle management (ALM) tools suite, including Jira and
1+ years of experience developing software using Git for repository
revision control and configuration management (CM)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work
experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.
