1st shift opportunity M-Th 6am-4:30pm with OT as needed on FridaysSUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Converting Technician is responsible for setting up the machines, tooling and running production of the converter, cleaning of the converter and all basic maintenance on of the machines. This position is responsible for operating machine to process continuous lengths of single layer, multi-layer laminated, and slitting film into specified widths that meet our customer quality specifications. This role would also be responsible for packaging off the converter for shipping, when required.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Receives job traveler and/or batch record* Identifies and ensures that proper materials are used for production* Will develop processes and work with vendors to specify new tooling for new products* Works with converter for laminating, slitting and kiss-cutting* Works with other equipment such as punch presses and robots* Manages pre-run testing of the material to ensure the correct coding weights and bond strength are applied* Runs the proper amount of material/footage to the job order* Completes proper checking of production and material* Cleans the converter daily; organizes machine and material parts during closing operations* Prepares for production at the end of each day for the following day* Completes required documentation accurately and timely.* Meets or exceeds prescribed job standard for line speeds, scrap and set-up times.* Reports any necessary maintenance of the machine to the engineering department using a written work order.* Reports any unsafe working conditions to the production supervisor.* Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvement environment.* Review work instructions and procedures that are applicable to the position.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES* Ability to read rulers, gauges and prints* Testing of equipment* Ability to use a micrometer, calipers or other inspection equipment* Must have good communication skills both verbal and written* Multiple machine qualifications preferred.* Must have outstanding troubleshooting skills* Must have good judgment with decision making in regards to Safety and Quality.* Ability to complete production related documentation on both computer and paper forms* Must have excellent team skills* Ability to take direction from several individuals* Ability to work overtime if required to get the job tasks completed* Self-motivated and ability to make decisionsEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION* 2-3 years of experience in production, slitting and printing setting* High school diploma or equivalent Nesco Resource and affiliates (Lehigh G.I.T Inc, and Callos Resource, LLC) is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics with respect to employment opportunities.
