TeamHealth has an excellent, full-time opportunity for a nurse practitioner to join the emergency department (ED) team in the Observation Unit at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. This 45-bed ED sees an annual patient volume of 55,000 and has an admission rate of 30 percent. The 26-bed Observation Unit has 24 hours of advanced practice clinician coverage working 10 hour shifts. This is a fast-paced unit that works in close collaboration with the emergency department, consultants, support staff of the unit, and Banner administrative physicians. Types of cases include, cardiac, neurological, surgical, medical, and include trauma, overdoses, and even some psychiatric disorders. There is 24/7 supervising physician oversight, and on-site emergency physician and in-house hospitalist coverage. Candidates should have significant clinical experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, cardiology or critical care experience as well as ACLS certification.
