Job Description:
Since 1971, A New Leaf has faithfully worked in service to our

developing comprehensive, relevant and effective services for
vulnerable and underserved families, children, and adults.
DVSTOP provides short-term emergency placement when Maricopa County
domestic violence shelters are full. When a survivor calls the
domestic violence hotline with a high risk of danger, A New Leaf
provides them with a safe, temporary location or hotel. This
assistance is provided at the direction of the call operator and
set criteria this emergency assistance is not guaranteed for all
callers.
Notably, DVSTOP also serves individuals and families that are
difficult to place in domestic violence shelters. For example:
late-term pregnancies, disabled individuals, large families, and
men. Survivors and their children are provided with short-term
housing and basic needs, until longer-term shelter or housing is
available. By providing flexibility in serving domestic violence
survivors, the DVSTOP program has saved countless lives.
Hourly Pay Rate: $21.00
Schedule Shift Available:
--- Monday - Friday, 5pm - 10pm (part-time)
--- Saturday - Sunday, 12pm - 10pm (part-time)
Location: Mesa, AZ
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
--- High School or GED required.
--- Associate or Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
--- Bilingual verbally in Spanish, preferred.
Experience:
--- 6 + months of experience working with domestic violence,
homeless or economically disadvantaged
--- population required.
--- 6 + months of experience working in Case Management
preferred.
--- Knowledge of community resources.
--- Knowledge of and/or experience with trauma informed practices
required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Role model appropriate behaviors to callers on the hotline and
clients in the shelter, at all times, utilizing trauma informed
principles and practices.
--- Answer crisis hotline calls, properly process, and document
calls according to procedure.
--- Provide crisis intervention, domestic violence education, and
resource and referral services to callers on the crisis
hotline.
--- Perform intake screenings, lethality assessments, and basic
needs assessments to ensure referrals are in line with client
needs.
--- Provide case management services to domestic violence clients
in the overflow program, establish/maintain client files.
--- Be responsible for issues regarding admission and discharge, in
conjunction with the programs definitions and policies as relevant
to program/client needs.
--- Co-develop 24/7 Safety/Crisis Plans with every household
depending on the safety needs and risk factors identified by the
client.
--- Develop the implementation of temporary strength-based service
plans and monitor progress towards goals.
--- Assist families/individuals in obtaining community services and
benefits, securing appointments with outside services and agencies
as needed; including linkages to other agencies/services.
--- Provide referrals and/or coordinate transportation for families
to community services, as needed.
--- Facilitate and coordinate safe transition out of overflow to
shelter or other safe housing and follow up according to plan.
--- Complete accurate case documentation and agency paperwork in a
timely, correct, and thorough manner and communicate with
hotel/motel and/or transportation agencies for client
placement.

--- Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
--- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
--- Current Auto Liability Insurance
--- Clean 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
--- Must be at least 21-years of age
