Supportability.What You Will Do:This is an exciting opportunity for
a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer -to join us on the
-Naval Powers (NP) System Safety team -in Tucson, AZ.As a Senior
System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Leading
one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programsPerforming
MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or
customer's approved equivalentCoordinating with customer safety
representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety
Review Board authoritiesWorking across all integrated product teams
and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective
controls.Collaborating with Program Management and government
approval authorities from program startup through production to
demilitarization and disposal backgroundsKey Responsibilities will
include:Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design
analysesBriefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as
part of the safety approval processInterpreting system
requirements, customer specifications and military
standardsPreparing internal and customer reports describing various
analyses relevant to the System Safety programCollaborating across
multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product
architecture and designThis position is posted as ONSITE and will
be based at Raytheon's Tucson, AZ location.Qualifications You Must
Have:Typically Requires: -Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant Systems
Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. -An advanced degree
may account for additional years of experience as required for this
position.Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems
Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical
Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. -The ability to
obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is
required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are
eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We
Prefer:Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon
combat systemsExperience with DoD System Safety ProgramsExperience
with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal
