• Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
• Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer's approved equivalent
• Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities
• Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
  • Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
  • Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
  • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
  • Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and designThis position is posted as ONSITE and will be based at Raytheon's Tucson, AZ location.Qualifications You Must Have:
    • Typically Requires: -Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. -An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
    • Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. -
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer:
      • Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
      • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
      • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
      • Ability to solve complex problems by leveraging available resources and research material
      • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
      • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel
