SWD Urethane is poised for aggressive growth and we need a Plant Manager to join our team of innovative, out of the box thinkers. As our Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing/driving continuous and significant performance improvement impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Lead time, Cost, and Working Capital (inventory). This will be achieved by developing a successful culture of continuous improvement and methodically implementing site and business level strategic objectives. To achieve this, you will work closely with a cross-functional team towards the achievement of organizational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Overseeing and managing plant operations.
  • Ensuring the facility is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Acting as company liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as well as community agencies and auditors.
  • Driving continuous improvement in operations including process optimization, EH&S and maintenance performance, cost reduction, people development, employee satisfaction, quality, budgeting, and capital programs.
  • Ensuring functional compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Implementing and driving a culture of process and occupational safety.
  • Maintaining manufacturing processes, packaging, raw material and finished product inventory within set guidelines, while maintaining required customer service levels.
  • Developing and implementing plant manufacturing expense and capital budgets.
  • Implementing new process technology at the plant.
  • Implementing Quality programs including ISO registration, maintenance, and improvement plans, standardized best practice in quality control, etc.
  • Managing implementation of annual objective setting and performance appraisal process, people development and training.
  • Supporting the Supply Chain leader in developing the manufacturing strategic plans to support commercial growth plans.
  • Maintaining site assets and optimizing equipment life-cycle.
  • Responsible for delivery production to KPI targets and results against plant productivity goals .
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the capacity and staffing needed to meet operational objectives for the plant.
  • Active and frequent engagement and presence on the shop floor.
    Education and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill, and/or ability required.
    • BS Technical Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent education and experience
    • Minimum 7 years of related manufacturing experience in the chemical industry
    • Strong leadership and supervisory experience
    • Experience driving a successful culture of safety & environmental health
    • Strong communication, leadership, problem solving, and decision-making skills
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
      Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
      • This position requires a versatile candidate; the ideal candidate will be motivated and organized. At different times of the month, may work odd hours depending on the workload and business needs. It is important that this individual can perform and oversee these duties at varying times of the day.
      • Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, sit, use hands to handle or touch, and reach with hands and arms as well as raise arms above shoulder height.
      • May be required to be fitted for and wear a respirator.
      • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and climb up and down stairs.
      • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
