Technician works collaboratively with Behavioral Health Consultant
Providers and the BH team to triage and educate patients that are
identified during a visit on the medical side to have a behavioral
health need. The Behavioral Health Technician is an entry-level
position on the behavior team. The Behavioral Health Technician
collaborates with the BHC to support the functions of the behavior

diploma or GED from an accredited institution1 year of experience
working with State AHCCCS and Regional Behavioral Health Authority
(RBHA) clients preferred in addition to direct experience working
in a professional, volunteer, or other relevant capacity with
individuals with complex medical and/or behavioral health
concernsAll areas of study meet qualifications. The following
majors are preferred: Social Work, Human Services, Psychology,
Counseling, Sociology, Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, Public Policy,
Public Health, or a related field.Excellent customer service
skillsExcellent computer skillsKnowledge of Arizona Department of
Health Services and RBHA requirementsKnowledge of current versions
of DSM and ICDAbility to provide effective and respectful quality
care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs
and practicesCertification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that
follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red
CrossBilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred Valid Arizona
drivers licenseLevel 1Fingerprint clearance card issued by Arizona
Department of Public Safety POSITION REPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL
Participates as directed in the screening of new service requests
within the health center ensuring that all individuals are
adequately and appropriately served according to their individual
needs and in accordance with existing policies and
proceduresParticipates in regular interdisciplinary staff
meetingsTriage warm hand offs from Primary Care Providers.Provides
on-going supportive and/or case management functions in accordance
with the problems, needs and the strategies identified in order to
assist the client to achieve optimal health goals.Provides
face-to-face reviews with the client and/or relevant behavioral
health staff on a regular basis. Assist supervisory staff with
tracking of clients, including the generation of reports that will
allow follow-through on quality of careDocuments all service
contacts on a timely basis including face-to-face
interviews/virtual interviews, collateral and networking contacts,
correspondence and maintains the case records in accordance with
internal and regulatory standards requirementsMaintains close
communication with the consulting Primary Care Provider and the
Behavioral Health team for input regarding medication compliance,
side effects of medication, and medication changes and alerts
behavioral health team of any changes in client adjustment which
might suggest decompensation and a need for more aggressive
intervention.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
which are consistent with the position and in compliance with

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to
weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various
clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious
diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic
